Alysson studied English, History, and Secondary Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She originally planned to teach in Colorado schools before deciding that her heart was most content working with animals.
Alysson began her transition into animal advocacy by working as an adoption assistant for a local shelter after graduation, while fostering dogs for local rescues. She later transitioned into the veterinary field as a receptionist, before working as the client services coordinator and veterinary assistant at Tender Touch Animal Hospital in Denver. She also holds a deep love for horses and has worked internships with Acadia Equine Rehabilitation and The Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage. After spending most of her twenties working in animal health, she studied Business Administration at Front Range Community College. Alysson’s dream was to effect positive change in animal wellness on a large scale when she joined Fear Free Pets, and she feels she has truly found her purpose through her work.
Alysson is a true believer in animal rescue, and she is owned by three rescued dogs, two adopted kitties and her rescued horse, Sebastian. Outside of the office she enjoys getting her hands dirty at the barn; hiking with her kids, husband, and dogs; cuddling with her kitties; and drinking local beer on her deck with her friends. She loves all things fantasy based, and her favorite word is wizard. She is thrilled to be able to bring her passion for animal advocacy and wellness to Fear Free!
