Ruth Garcia, MBA

Ruth Garcia grew up in Austria and after receiving an Associate Bachelor of Art degree in Hotel Management from MODUL Vienna, Austria, traveled the world for a number of years working for some of the leading international luxury hotel brands. Following the international stint, Ruth worked for Western Union for a couple of years, where she met her now husband Raul. His work brought them to Denver, Colorado in 2006 and they have lived here ever since.
Once in Denver, Ruth discovered her passion for building businesses and entrepreneurship. She is the founder of a consulting firm, and the co-owner of two high-end barber shops. Both barbershops are operating successfully today and employ over 30 professionals. In 2015, Ruth joined cohort 63 at the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business, for an Executive Master of Business Administration.
One of Ruth’s passions has always been animals and animal welfare and she has been involved with numerous organizations in the Denver area, such as MaxFund Animal Shelter and OutPaws. Her cats, Caspar and Jazz, moved with the family from London to Denver in 2006; Noah the border collie mix joined the family from the Telluride shelter in 2000, and Luna, the lab greyhound was adopted from a foster organization in 2012.
Ruth’s passion for animals combined with her track record of building successful businesses and her business and academic acumen brought her to Fear Free. In her role as COO, Ruth is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Fear Free, including sponsor relations, strategic alliances, sales, strategy and CE course development. She manages a team of four out of the Denver-based Fear Free office.
Ruth and her husband Raul love spending time with their pets, hiking, kayaking, cross-country skiing. They enjoy food, wine, beer and socializing with their friends.
