“Dr. Nellie was kind, gentle, caring, soft-spoken…everything we could have wished for at this most difficult time. It was like she was heaven-sent for our little Oscar to guide and help him pass from his life of pain to all the loving arms that were waiting for him on the other side of the rainbow.”

“Dr. Nellie was absolutely amazing! She was able to reassure me that I was making the right decision, and was very gracious and kind during the whole process. I really appreciated that she was flexible and willing to complete the process in the backyard, my dog’s favorite place to be and final resting place. Dr. Nellie, I can’t thank you enough for making a difficult situation full of love and remembering the positive memories.

Thank you so much!”

“I found Lap of Love and am so grateful. Dr. Nellie came to the house so that Ziggle would be in the most loving, familiar, and comfortable environment possible. It is horrible to loose someone you love; but was the best possible scenario to hold a frail Zig as he transitioned to a healthy and pain-free existence.

Dr. Nellie was kind, considerate, and patient. Ty and I could hardly talk through the tears. She kept reinforcing there wasn’t a rush — to take all the time we needed. Dr. Nellie was as compassionate with Ziggle as she was with us.

One would think when the procedure was through, the veterinarian would be anxious to leave. Not so — Dr. Nellie stayed with us (Ty, our cat Ciao Bella, and me) as we grieved, buried Ziggle, walked around, and built a fire.

Ty isn’t one to hand out compliments, and said this experience was as perfect as it could be. We highly, highly recommend Lap of Love.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a more compassionate and patient person to have helped us deal with Vader’s passing. Being able to have his last moments in his house surrounded by his family, instead of in a strange place, meant the world to us.”

“When our 12 year old Golden Retriever Chloe was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma, we were extremely sad, dismayed and confused. We didn’t know what to do! The doctors at the Ohio State University Veterinary Clinic told us about in home euthanasia for pets and recommended Lap of Love. So we took Chloe home and, after a day and a half, called Lap of Love and arranged for an appointment with Dr. Nellie.

Dr. Nellie was terrific! She was kind, gentle, understanding, reassuring and patient. She helped make an extremely difficult situation a little less stressful. Although we are still grieving, we take comfort in knowing that Chloe passed in her own home among those who loved her the most. Our family highly recommends Lap of Love.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor to show up at my door on the worst day of my life thus far. Gino was the youngest of my two and this unfortunate news came unexpectedly. He had declined so much in the previous 48 hours and I could not bear the thought of Gino spending his last moments on the cold floor of the ER. I was so glad to be able to spend my last moments with him in the comfort of my home, alongside my parents and my other dog Bear. Bear was unaware of what was going on in that moment and Dr. Nellie was so kind about my Bear’s rambunctious behavior to get attention from his new friend. Dr. Nellie was so compassionate and kind and that is not something you can teach. She is very genuine and really made me feel at ease. Thank you Doctor Nellie for making those last moments with Gino so special, I am so glad he had such a caring vet by his side. You will forever hold a dear place in my heart for that.”

“I can not express accurately how much having you there helped. I expected to be treated professionally and you were not only professional but you were kind, patient, and compassionate. You made one of the worst moments in my life a million times better. There is nothing that can take away my pain, but I am grateful that you helped my baby pass so peacefully. I will tell everyone that I know about you and lap of love. Again please DO know that what you did for me and my family will never be forgotten. Thank you for your kindness. ❤”

“I want to thank Dr. Wilbers for her kind care as we came to the end of our journey with Crunch one of our Great Danes. She got right in the floor with him and made the end very less stressful than it would have been in a office setting. As a Chaplain I see death all the time, this was our pet and family member and I would hope for that same kind of care when it is my time to leave here.
God Bless,
Chaplain John D. Halley”

“Like all pet parents making this decision was one of the most difficult things we have ever had to do. Our baby Roxie Rue Rotten was 14 years 4 months and 20 days of age when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I can not say enough great things about out contact with Laps of Love. Laurie and Dr Nellie were absolutely wonderful. They were so kind and warm and comforting. Being able to say goodbye to our baby girl at home on the sofa with her blanket and her snuggled between us was a priceless experience and gift. If you must make this choice for your sweet fur baby, this is the way to go.”
