Dr. Marty Becker, “America’s Veterinarian”
What Jacques Cousteau did for the oceans and Carl Sagan did for space, Dr. Marty Becker is doing for the human-animal bond and the emotional wellbeing of animals.
Through his groundbreaking initiative, Fear Free, Dr. Becker is on a mission to ensure that animals live their happiest, healthiest lives. His influence extends beyond veterinary clinics, impacting professionals in grooming, training, pet sitting, boarding and daycare, and shelters. His work even reaches animals used for food and fiber.
Dr. Becker has captured the hearts of millions as a dynamic media correspondent, prolific author, syndicated columnist, social media influencer, board member (World Vets, Pet Partners, Grey Muzzle, etc.), and philanthropist.
Locally, he actively supports organizations such as Second Chance Animal Adoption of Bonners Ferry, ID, and contributes to the Better Together Animal Alliance in Sandpoint, ID, the Kootenai Humane Society in Coeur d’Alene, ID, and the Whitman County Humane Society in Pullman, WA.
As a cutting-edge educator, Dr. Becker empowers the next generation of veterinary professionals. He teaches as an adjunct professor at esteemed veterinary colleges, including Washington State University, Colorado State University, and the University of Missouri.
When he’s not busy revolutionizing pet health, Dr. Becker can be found at VCA North Idaho Animal Hospital, where he works tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of our furry companions. At home on his Northern Idaho ranch, he enjoys life with his wife Teresa and their beloved menagerie of dogs, cats, and horses.
