Animal Hospital of North Asheville is a full-service veterinary practice serving the dogs and cats of Asheville, NC, as well as Weaverville, Hendersonville, Black Mountain, and all of Western North Carolina since 1977. Using state-of-the-art diagnostics, we provide your pet with the highest quality affordable care while always using love and compassion to guide us. We emphasize wellness care, such as annual comprehensive physical exams, along with medical and emergency care. We excel at diagnostics with eight experienced and Fear Free certified veterinarians. Our hospital provides surgical services including laparoscopic and orthopedic capabilities. We have a veterinarian devoted entirely to dentistry which enables AHNA to perform root canals, advanced oral surgery, and orthodontics. We offer 24-hour nursing care for our hospitalized patients (Monday through Saturday) and we are well equipped with the latest in equipment and technology including the ability to perform chemotherapy, ultrasounds, cardiac workups, endoscopy, and laser therapy.

We are committed to the Fear Free Veterinary Initiative which elevates the standards of providing low stress and species-specific enrichment at the veterinary visit by incorporating fear free protocols.  Our goal is to provide your pet with gentle, loving, stress-free care.

We realize that a trip to a veterinary hospital can cause feelings of fear, stress, and anxiety. These feelings not only affect the emotional wellbeing of your pet, but they can also have medical effects and cause behavioral issues.  We at the Animal Hospital of North Asheville strive to make each visit a happy and stress-free visit from the living room to the exam room, and back home again.

Our staff has undergone specialized Fear Free Certification and yearly medical continuing education to help create protocols and a low-stress veterinary environment so that your dog, cat, puppy, or kitten will benefit from and you can rest easy knowing that your pet is receiving the best care available in WNC.
