Greetings!

My name is Gray, and I am a 33-year-old licensed veterinary technician originally from the East Coast, transplanted to Seattle basically for the fun of COVID (at least it seems that way, timing-wise 😣), and now I am back home to my roots outside of DC. I have a strong professional interest in pain management, clinical pathology, pharmacology (particularly in the fields of anesthesia & analgesia, but I do love seeing how its principles function in practice), and feline medicine in particular. I love to learn.

Like all of those with a passion for Fear Free, I have a strong desire to help make animals more comfortable, whether behaviorally, physically, emotionally, or what-have-you. We are all complex beings. Being able to apply and see positive results from the principles of Fear Free not only in clinical practice, but also as a Fear Free-certified Pet Sitter, is an empowering feeling, and it always makes me feel very optimistic to be able to practice low-stress behaviors around cats and pups whose owners specifically need someone with a touch for providing emotional support and enrichment to anxious or fearful dogs. If you’re in Silver Spring or general DC area and have any interest in letting me dog-walk or pet-sit for you, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at grayakerslvt@gmail.com 🐾

“Gray has walked my dogs consistently for about 6 months. I found her to be responsible and attentive. I trusted her judgment with my puppies and their health and with access to my home. I have recommended her to friends in the past and would recommend her to anyone else.”

Elizabeth L., owner of a gregarious, outgoing Bichon, and a very inward, fearful Maltese

“I’m so happy that my veterinarian recommended Gray to look after my two dogs when we went on a recent trip out of town. We have two seniors, one of which has significant mobility issues and requires special attention beyond the scope of what most dog sitters are able to manage. As a licensed veterinary technician, I felt very comfortable leaving them under her care. She was very responsive in all our communications leading up to her stay at our place. During the trip she messaged us each day to give us updates, including pictures, on with details on how the dogs were doing and what they had done that day. When we returned home it was clear that the dogs had been very well cared for. They were relaxed and happy. Added bonus was that she left the house extremely clean! I highly recommend Gray as a pet sitter. Before our trip I was really fretting about finding someone who’d be able to take good care of our two older dogs. I feel very lucky to have found Gray!”

Hampton T., owner of a spritely young Pug and an older Pug with degenerative myelopathy who required sling-walks & manual bladder expression

“I hired Elizabeth [Gray] to take care of my cats in 2012 for an entire year when I was abroad. She did a great job, very dependable. Loves animals.”

Yvonne S., owner of four elderly cats whom I did indeed house-sit and foster for a year
