Hi there, I’m Emileigh! I am a Registered Veterinary Technician, a proud holder of multiple Fear Free certifications, an expert in human-animal bonds, and your go-to guide for all things pet nutrition. I’m constantly on the lookout for ways to level up my know-how and deliver top-notch care to your fur babies and mine!

As an RVT I bring many things from the veterinary clinic right into the comfort of your home. My services do not replace your DVM but act as a partner in your pet’s health to help with education, treatments, and routine care. Client education is one of the pillars of my business and I enjoy helping you understand your pet’s and their needs. There are many questions an RVT can answer that may not require a DVM exam, but if yours does I will let you know and direct you appropriately. But for the other 80% of questions I can typically save you a trip to the vet. When you go to the vet they have your pet’s complete history, medications, allergies, medical conditions, etc. As an RVT I am trained in collecting this information and using it to help make appropriate recommendations for your pet. Facebook groups may seem like a quick place to get an answer, but they do not have your pet’s information or the knowledge to ask the appropriate questions before making recommendations.

As a pet owner, you can decide which pet-care option works best for you and your pets—and what works best for another pet owner may not be what works best for you. But, your decision should be an educated one. You should know that relying on family and friends is no longer your only option—there are professional pet sitters available. While professional pet sitters may cost slightly more than their non-professional counterparts, your investment is well worth it. You want someone trained in giving medication, emergency scenarios, and behavior to appropriately monitor your pet and catch those subtle changes before they become a problem. Using a professional pet sitter who is insured, bonded and trained protects you and your pet—and I know there’s no price you would place on your pet’s safety and well-being, or your own peace of mind.

Being a Fear Free Certified Professional, means I use the least stressful methods possible while working with your dog. My training techniques focus on positive reinforcement to strengthen the bond between you and your dog. I have experience working with anywhere from puppies needing manners, to fearful and aggressive dogs needing some redirection. Training should be an enjoyable experience for both you and your dog. The more you understand about how your dog thinks and learns, the more effectively you can communicate. Clear communication means successful training and good behavior. You cannot build a strong bond with your dog unless you truly understand how he perceives the world around him, but to do this effectively you must first learn his language and appreciate his sensory experience. My training programs build on that communication to help you and your dog learn together to create a lifelong relationship centered around a strong human-animal bond.
