Fernando Diaz
Fernando Diaz has over 15 years of experience in the animal care industry, having worked with marine mammals, reptiles, fish, cats, and dogs. He is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), a Certified Shelter Behavior Specialist (CSBS) with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), and a certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) with the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Additionally, he is a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT).
Fernando has served as a board member-at-large for the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and most recently as President of the Board of Directors for Shelter Playgroup Alliance (SPA).
Fernando is experienced in developing education and support for animal welfare professionals and organizations, helping to improve processes and create career pathways for professionals interested in behavior. He has in-depth knowledge of developing best practice guidelines and has co-authored a publication on assessing and managing safe canine behavior.
Fernando is amazing! We have a great dane that was being unruly and using his size to take advantage of situations. Fernando helped us understand our dog’s body language and also how to anticipate his actions based on the circumstances happening around him. After three sessions I seen tremendous improvement in Roscoe’s behavior and my confidence. I would still be taking classes from Fernando if he had not moved!
