Gloria Schmidt
Welcome! My name is Gloria and I have worked with companion animals for 3+ years as a veterinary nurse and dog trainer. I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) which means that I have completed over 300 hours of active training, submitted references, passed an exam, and agreed to abide by a national a training code of ethics. I graduated with a degree in Chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill and like to channel my inner science nerd when researching the latest information on canine behavior and training best practices.
I teach cooperative care private lessons, basic manners private lessons, and group classes. When working as a veterinary nurse, I became extremely passionate about early puppy socialization and helping owners create a bond with their pet via basic obedience training. I also discovered that there is a surprisingly huge communication gap between dog trainers and veterinarians, so my constant mission to unite these two fields together for the benefit of pet owners everywhere.
In my spare time, I enjoy SCUBA diving and downhill skiing with my husband John, playing with my high-energy pup Jackson, and clicker training my fierce cat Penny.
“We had the most amazing experience with Gloria from All Dogs Allowed. We have used a variety of private trainers in the past to help our anxious Great Dane, but none were even close to as helpful, patient, invested or knowledgeable as Gloria was. Gloria provided us with custom training solutions that after only just a few weeks have showed tremendous improvement in our Dane. Having an interest in our dog’s unique history and an abundance of knowledge in current dog behavior research, we will definitely be working with Gloria again.” –Brenna
