I hold an MS in Animals and Public Policy (minor in Animal Behavior) from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. I am the only board certified applied animal behaviorist (ACAAB) in the eastern half of Missouri. I am a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine – Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). I have been training professionally for 14 years and doing behavior modification for about 10 years.

I am currently in private practice seeing clients in person and by Zoom.

Previously, I was the head behavior and training instructor at the Academy of Pet Careers and have held several day-long seminars teaching shelter employees and volunteers how to read body language, safe leash handling and how to safely break up dog fights.

Recent 5-star review by current client, Denise (Krieger):   “Jody is an excellent behaviorist. I have a dog that I REALLY needed help with and she is so calm and patient it’s amazing. I would have yelled at the student (me) a few times by now. I learned how important nose work can be for dogs and to use their nose to find food, treats or toys. It is fun to hide something inside or out and ask him to find it. Learning about dog body language and signals are still a bit hard for me to see but I am learning. My dog and Jody are buddies now, he is always excited to see her. Jody is very responsive, when you contact her through your personalized message board on her website. I don’t text her much b/c I know it would interrupt her training session. She is reliable and on time. I would recommend her to anyone.”
