Rescued By Training is dedicated to helping clients have a beautiful and loving relationship with their dog, using only the most transparent and humane methods currently available. We will never hurt, coerce, scare or “dominate” your dog in any way.  We are 100% committed to science-based, force free training, which uses rewards (never fear or pain) to motivate and train your dog.

Kate’s passion for dogs and animals runs deep, along with her commitment to help people learn how to effectively and humanely train and help their dogs. She is an honors graduate from The Academy for Dog Trainers, the “Harvard” of dog training. Under the mentorship of world renowned trainer and author, Jean Donaldson, she excelled in the program and graduated with honors.  She is a rescue advocate and has volunteered with several local rescues, fostering, training and volunteering in various capacities over the years.  She is also one of only 12 Professional Canine Behavior Consultant – Accredited (PCBC-A) in the world and one of the few certified CBCC-KA through CCPDT.  She maintains close relationships with several veterinary behaviorists and general vets.

Kate is also a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and a full member of The Pet Professional Guild (PPG), the only organization representing pet industry professionals who are committed to results based, science based force-free training.

Kate currently sees private clients in NYC, Brooklyn, Westchester County NY and Fairfield County CT, offering private sessions, day training, speaking seminars for schools, hospitals, doulas as well as remote training sessions via phone or video anywhere in the world  Kate and her husband John share their home with two rescue dogs, Mr. Barbo and BooBoo and enjoy long hikes as a family.  Kate and BooBoo are an active Bright and Beautiful certified therapy dog team and make  therapy dog visits to various nursing and rehabilitation homes locally.
