The Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital, founded in 1950 by Dr. Stan Garrison, and owned by Drs. Matt Duemler and Emily Falls, has been an AAHA accredited hospital since 1963. Accreditation by AAHA means that our hospital has been examined and evaluated against the standards written and agreed upon by AAHA members, and been found to be adhering to the standards: cleanliness, record keeping, quality assurance protocols, emergency procedures, medical waste management, surgery, sterility, consistency and quality of radiology, laboratory testing, hospitalized animal care, advanced diagnostic procedures, and continual education. This is a massive undertaking for any veterinary hospital. This accreditation provides our clients with the assurance that our hospital has been inspected and evaluated to the most rigorous standards of care. Our clients and their pet families can know that not only will they find a clean, caring, compassionate environment for themselves, they will also experience the best in veterinary diagnostics, medicine and surgery.

The very best of care for animals. They are also very warm and understanding to those of us that love those animals. I love that they have their own emergency hours. I have been a client there for 30 years and would never change to another place! They are the greatest! I have had Dr. Keith Clement as my vet for about all of those 30 (if not all) years and he is very warm and compassionate with all animals. I have never been treated as a bother or like I ask too many questions. I never feel rushed out. I highly recommend BHVH and Keith Clement! Ronni Moore
On Friday, my husband came home to our unresponsive, 20 year old cat. His eyes were open, and he was breathing, but he could not move. I immediately called our vet ( it was 3:20). He offered an appointment the next morning and the phone number of an emergency vet in Gansevoort. I called 5 more local veterinary centers, but no one could see us. Our cat was clearly dying. We worried that he was frightened and in pain. I finally called Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital. Each and every person we came in contact with, from the woman who answered the phone, to the person who greeted us when we got there, to Dr. Farrell and the technician, were pure kindness. Even though our Little Guy was not a patient there, the staff treated us as if we had been going there for years. We were instructed to come right away and were taken directly into an examining room, where Dr. Farrell compassionately euthanized our cat. Dr. Farrell did, and said, everything necessary to help a grieving family. His kind and gentle manner put us, and I’m sure our cat, at ease. We will most certainly be recommending Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital to anyone who will listen. We thank the staff there from the bottom of our hearts.
I’ve been taking my dogs here for about 20 years and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. I’ve never had an experience that was anything other than kind, friendly, and helpful. Receptionists, animal handlers, vet techs, and vets are genuinely engaged in making sure our babies have the best care they can give and clearly adore the animals under their care. Rita Cox
